My move to Long Beach, CA and a pesto recipe
Saturday, March 13th, 2010
Over the past few weeks my wife and I have been coordinating our move from Oceanside to Long Beach, California. I am very happy to say that we have finally made the final move to our new place. It feels great to be back in the town I was originally born. I celebrated our move by making the both of us dish that used my top secret pesto recipe.

I am now officially the newest Graphic Designer in Long Beach! If you would like to hire me for a freelance design project, feel free to get in touch.
Vegan Pesto Recipe

This is the first meal we made together in our new place and I thought it was so delicious that I would share my pesto recipe.
1 1/2 cups fresh basil
1/3 cup olive oil
1 cup pine nuts (other nuts, such as almonds or walnuts may be substituted)
4-7 cloves garlic (to taste)
1/3 cup nutritional yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or a blender until the garlic cloves and pine nuts are chopped up. Pesto should still have texture and not be completely smooth. (optional) Try throwing some sun dried tomatoes into the mixture.

My move to Long Beach, CA and a pesto recipe
I have actually tried a recipe very similar to this before and I loved it. Nutritional yeast when used in recipes has a texture and taste that is very similar to that of cheese. Thank for the recipe though and good luck in Long Beach!
Richard – I’m glad you enjoyed the recipe and thanks for the well wishes. I love it here!
